The best value  way to charge your Leisure battery while driving is to use a Voltage Sensitive Relay to make sure the Leisure battery is only charged once the starter battery is full.   NB this will not work with a SMART alternator and is not recommended for Lithium batteries

For both installation and fault finding a multi meter is a pretty essential piece of kit. We've tried out this one and since it is fully automatic pretty much anyone could use it.
